The Regulated Health Professions Act in Canada defines Massage Therapy as: “The assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.”
Massage Therapy is possibly the oldest form of medical treatment, while at the same time being an ever-evolving profession. It can help ease aches and pains, relax muscles, relieve stress, improve circulation and nutrition of the body’s tissues, and calm the mind and spirit.
Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, Massage Therapy can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being. Our RMTs work effectively with a wide variety of clients, of all ages, different body types, and we provide injury rehabilitation in the treatment of many acute and chronic conditions.
The Active Life Centre provides many different therapeutic approaches which are listed below. Click on the “Read more…” to gain a more comprehensive description of any of the modalities that you may be interested in exploring. At the end of each therapy page there is a list of ALC Therapists who provide that specific type of modality.
