MAKAMI COLLEGE OF MASSAGE THERAPY
As someone who has been in the healthcare industry for over 10 years, I have learned how to listen to my clients needs. I have a solid understanding of the body, and the different techniques that will bring relief based on the individuals’ capabilities. My goal is to educate and help each client age gracefully and maintain independence.
In addition to practicing Massage Therapy I also hold a personal training certification with a focus on strength and conditioning coaching. I have a growth mindset and continue to take new courses and expand my understanding of the body and how to help heal it. My areas of interest lie in the Myofascial systems of the body, target muscle release techniques and posture re-alignment.
Over the years I have come to the realization that maintaining good physical health relies heavily on good mental health. The body cannot heal if the mind is in poor condition. It is crucial for the two systems to work together. This is another area of interest, specifically stress management. There are different situations that can cause stress, and they can be both good and bad.
My focus is helping clients better manage their physical stress by incorporating nervous system work during each session. Deep breathing exercises will help to alleviate tension within the body by allowing more oxygen into the lungs, slowing heartbeat and stabilizing blood pressure. This translates into an escape from the emotional turmoil, and even allows the mind to explore different perspectives and solutions to problems.
I believe every person can and should live a happy life. To achieve this takes deliberate planning, and the right surroundings. I wish to be a part of that surrounding and offer a different perspective to body problems.
Yours in health,
